Clipped Signature - Norman Samuels. A Typhoon pilot with No.193 Sqn, he spent some time on Spitfires with No.610 Sqn before returning to Typhoons. He was shot down in March 1945, evaded capture for some time before being taken prisoner for the last few weeks of the war. |
Clipped Signature - David Ince. David Ince trained on Hurricanes and Mustangs before flying Typhoons with No.193 Sqn and No.257 Sqn. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross after completing almost 150 sorties. Post war he completed an engineering degree. He died aged 96 in 2017. Clipped alongside the signature of John Shellard - John Shellard flew Typhoons with No.263 Sqn, claiming a share of a victory over an Me262 jet in April 1944 while on a ground attack mission. |
